Confirmation is a time for young people to solidify their personal commitment to Christ. Until this point, much has happened in a young person’s life to prepare them for this time of commitment. God, through the work of the Holy Spirit, has already been at work in their life through the love and care of parents, grandparents, pastors, Sunday school teachers and participation in workshop activities such as communion and baptism. Confirmation is a special time of exploration of faith for our young people. A time where they will accept the love of Christ and confirm their commitment to Him.

Confirmation at Nimmo United Methodist Church occurs in the late spring and will consist of confirmation classes with the youth director and pastor, mission work, working with and learning from an adult mentor, and a special dinner for parents, confirmands and mentors. At the culmination of the classes, the confirmands will stand up before the congregation of Nimmo United Methodist Church and take vows of membership into the church.

Confirmation is for youth from grades 8-12. If you are interested in learning more about confirmation, please contact Stacy Fitzpatrick, Youth Director, at
