I am originally from Crystal Lake, Illinois which is a far northwest suburb of Chicago.  I moved to Virginia about 13 years ago and while I miss my family, Virginia has become home.  I am certified candidate for ordination as Deacon in the United Methodist Church.  I attended Asbury Seminary and The Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Theology.  I have a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and have spent the last 10 years in the role of director at local child care centers.  I am the mom to three amazing young ladies- Kaleigh, Eliza, and Summer, is a sophomore at Christopher Newport University. When I am not working, doing laundry, or chauffeuring girls to their activities; I love to cook and read.   When I have down time to watch TV I usually chose to watch Netflix.  My favorite shows are crime type shows like Criminal Minds, The Mentalist, CSI, Blacklist, and Person of Interest.  I love the Harry Potter Books and Movies.

Organist/Pianist John Folsom

John Folsom is a retired nuclear submarine officer and government employee who has been involved in both instrumental and choral musical for his entire life. After taking piano lessons as a child, he studied organ and stepped in as a replacement organist while in college. Following retirement from active duty, he and his family settled in Virginia Beach and adopted NUMC as their home church. He served as substitute organist until Nimmo added a second Sunday worship opportunity, when he was hired for the new 8:30 am service. Several years later upon the death of Charles Daws, John became Nimmo’s organist for all services.
